Hurricane Helene did horrible destruction in Florida

But in making its way north it destroyed even more
deeply through massive flooding ... in particular in the
Asheville area where flooded rivers washed away whole
towns ... and over 100 people died as a result

A GROUP GOT TOGETHER TO HELP OUT (TYPICAL ACROSS AMERICA)

These are the guys who put one of the relief projects
together ... definitely not government bureaucrats!

Local companies and multitudes
of individuals
contributed money (over $100,000!) and personal
time to
get things assembled ... and a local team of
around 50 people got themselves
ready to head to
North Carolina to actually put all this to work!

120+ pallets of various supplies, including 16 pallets
of restaurant equipment to serve meals, were finally
assembled. Four tractor trailers would be needed to
take these supplies to North Carolina
THIS IS WHAT THEY SAW UPON THEIR ARRIVAL
Roads and bridges destroyed, houses washed away,
debris of all variety piled up alongside the roads

But they soon saw how others – many others –
had also arrived on the scene to help out

THEY SET UP OUTSIDE A LOCAL CHURCH

And instead of having to sleep in tents as originally planned,
the church let the volunteers spend the nights
on their padded pews!

NEEDED SUPPLIES WERE HANDED OUT
AND THOUSANDS OF MEALS WERE SERVED

No precise tally was made of how many meals were actually
served ... but certainly well over 10,000 meals were served
Now that's America ... being truly "American"
